Should Win: Cate Blanchett Could Win: Abigail Breslin Will Win: Jennifer Hudson

A true Hollywood story for Hudson for sure. But... will she ever act in a role without singing?

Why is everyone saying this race is set in stone? I was honestly not that impressed with Hudson's acting abilities. Singing, sure. She can totally sing. But I honestly was more impressed with Beyonce's acting in the movie. But yes, I know I'm in the minority here. However, everyone loved Little Miss Sunshine. And Abigail Breslin would probably be the top contender in any other year for her performance, although, to be fair, I always hesitate when it comes to crowning child actors. If it was up to me I'd give them a "potential" award of some sort which will turn into a real award once they prove that they can do more than just being their cute selves.

Oh and, in case my should win section didn't catch your eye, Cate Blanchett gave the performance of the year opposite Judi Dench in Notes on a Scandal. But, in a group that has at least 3 Oscar-bait roles, is hard to think she can actually prevail.

So yah... Hudson is probably set in stone.
