The Notebook is a classic love story between a simple boy falling in love with a girl from a rich family in the late 30' - early 40's. The movie is fun to watch in the first part, when Noah (Gosling) courts and wins over Allie (McAdams), is very predictable in the development of the story, and has its best moments showing the couple 40 years later, as they are old and have all their life behind.
Unoriginal for some, touching for others, The Notebook is well made, nicely filmed and well acted, providing a nice evening for those that enjoy having a handkerchief around at the movies.
