Elektra (USA) (20th Century Fox) (2005) *1/2Year: 2005iMDB
Director: Rob Bowman Cast: Jennifer Garner, Goran Visnjic, Kirsten Prout
While looking through the list of movies that other people saw thus far in 2005 I realized that I omitted to write-up my own review for Elektra... Must be my brain that tried to subconsciously block it out of my memory! In all fairness though, I don't think Elektra is the worst movie ever made (XXX: State of the Union on the other hand is a strong candidate here) nor the worst I've ever seen. It is just a bad B movie, a comic book adaptation that makes comic books look shallow, dumb. A boring mess with a hero that decided to be evil although it has potential to be good and struggles between the two for no apparent reason. I am not familiar with the original comics in this case, so I can't say if its all the source's fault, but either way, even Jennifer Garner playing the same "I kick everything that moves" role from Alias, only in more medieval outfits, can't bring enough excitement into this movie.
