The Brothers Grimm (Czech Republic/USA) (Miramax/MGM) (2005) **Year: 2005iMDB

Director: Terry Gilliam Cast: Matt Damon, Heath Ledger

Terry Gilliam seemed perfect to bring to screen a story about the amazingly imaginative brothers Grimm, credited for the creation or compilation of too many stories to count (Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Tom Thumb, Hansel and Gretel, etc.). However, combining great visual imagination with poor Monty Python style humor and mixing them into a screwball story that scares children, and either disgusts or bores parents is not the key for a successful movie.

This is not Finding Neverland where we see how the strong imagination of a story writer gets intertwined with real life. It is pure fiction, but a very confusing one, whose only redeeming value is that it briefly mentions bits of the real Grimm stories. Save your time
